Hi everyone! Today I am doing something a little different; I’ve recently received a few requests to disclose the makeup products I use. With that being said, I’m giving you a peek at my top 10 beauty bag staples and a brief explanation of why they’re purchase-worthy products, in my opinion that is! :) (Note: items with “*” symbolize that it’s a green product).
Burt’s Bees Lip Balm. “Soothing. Cooling. Refreshing.” - the packaging itself says it all. This bee is a keeper, no pun intended! *
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in “Nearly There 205”. This lipstick provides the perfect subtle rose shade with the just the right amount of shimmer. Worn alone or layered on top of other colors, this lipstick rocks – plain and simple.
Tarte Clean Slate Face Primer. After applying moisturizer, I layer this on top to decrease creasing of fine lines and wrinkles, ultimately creating a smooth surface for flawless foundation application. I’m a huge fan of the fact that this primer is derived from natural fruit and plant extracts. *
Bare Minerals Foundation. I love the seamless doll-face look this product creates and how it enables layering for more coverage when needed, but without a “cakey” effect. The fact that it contains SPF also makes it a winner in my book. *
Nars blush in “Orgasm”. This blush is a universally flattering pink color and gives the perfect hint of shimmer for a fabulously flushed glow.
Sigma Synthetic Essential Kit. Sigma wasn’t kidding when they named this kit ‘essential’ because I can’t seem to go a day without ‘em! These awesome brushes are super soft, cruelty-free, affordable, AND provide amazing application among a wide range of cosmetic products and formulas. What’s not to love? *
Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets. These are always in the bottom of my bag and come in handy mid-day when I’m feeling a bit on the “shiny” side, if you will. Find ‘em at your local drugstore!
Sigma Eye Shadow Palette in “Bare”. I tend to favor neutrals and basics, so this palette is a perfect fit for me.
Maybelline the Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara. This stuff provides full-looking and voluminous lashes, exactly what a mascara is supposed to do. Needless to say, I’m a returning buyer.
Last but not least, my most recent beauty buy turned staple: Motif hand and face wipes. When the fun packaging caught my eye followed by the small price tag, I was sold. These alcohol-free, aloe-infused wipes are my go-to for removing makeup on those nights where I’m just too lazy to wash my face (so, most nights of the week). Find ‘em at Target in the hand soap aisle for $1.49! *
Alright, so there you have it – my top 10 beauty essentials; thanks for reading! :) I’d love to know – what are some of your fave beauty buys?!
Outfit post coming tomorrow! Until then, keep it chic!

Thanks for featuring motif in your post! In just a small correction and better news, the wipes are $1.49 at Target :)

Great post! I love seeing people’s makeup routines. I love Burts Bees and tend to always have it in my pocket :) Also, Nars in Orgasm is my favorite!!! I want to try and find those makeup wipes at my Target – I’ve never seen them and they’re super cute! Plus, sometimes I get really lazy with taking off my eye makeup… and that’s such a big no-no…
Hi Megan – check out http://www.motifliving.com for a store locator (or to purchase online).
I vouch for the mascara too….I started using it a few months ago and am obsessed!
